How the numbers are worked out
Every booster is built from its real print-sheet odds — the slot structure and per-card weights Wizards publishes and MTGJSON compiles. "Cards inside" is the exact average of that structure with every card at its current market price, not one lucky opening. Median and top-10 % figures come from a fixed sample of simulated packs so they don't wobble day to day.
Prices are TCGplayer (USD) and Cardmarket (EUR) market prices, refreshed nightly — last run 2026-10-27, 179 sets. Market value is what cards sell for, not what you would net selling them.
Common questions
Are Collector Boosters worth the money?
Sometimes. A Collector Booster costs several times a Play Booster and packs more foils and rares, but the return depends on the set. Right now 34 of 245 priced packs return more in card value than they cost; the best is Aetherdrift Play Booster at 138%. Check the ranking before you buy.
Which set has the best pull rates?
Pull rates for rares and mythics are fixed by the print sheets, so they hardly differ between sets of the same era — what differs is how much the cards are worth. That is why we rank by return (cards inside ÷ pack price) rather than by odds alone.
What are the odds of a mythic rare?
In a modern Play Booster the rare/mythic slot yields a mythic roughly one time in seven; a Collector Booster has several rare-or-mythic slots, so most of them contain at least one. The exact numbers per set and per slot are on each pack page.
Do these prices include shipping?
No. Card values are market prices for the card alone; pack prices are the market price of a sealed pack (or a box divided by its pack count). Shipping, taxes and what a buyer would actually pay you are not included, so treat the return as an upper bound.
